Grasshopper; Cyprus

Breakfast in Pyla ; Cyprus

A colorful breakfast setting after an early morning walk on the beach.

Figs; Pyla, Cyprus

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee & snacks all had one common denominator in Cyprus: Figs. In Greek - sykon (SEE-ka). My aunt always had anywhere from a big bowl to an overflowing drywall bucket filled with the freshest sykon picked from Theo Naki's trees.

El Yunque Shell; Puerto Rico

Pistachios; Cyprus

You have never tried a pistachio until you've tried a freshly picked pistachio. None of this from a bag, covered in salt stuff. It will take you hours of sitting around a table, drinking coffee or lemonade in the shade of the vine covered trellis, peeling them from their casing, but they so very worth it.
